When choosing bras and panties select colors you love to wear that also compliment your hair and skin tone. As a general rule of thumb, if a lipstick color looks great on you the same shade will be just as flattering in an undergarment. For me, that’s soft as well as bright pinks, and corals. While nude and black are necessary basics, choose ones that have an extra feminine detail such as a lace balconette or silky push-up with gold strap sliders.

#2 Shop Around and Take your Time

Beauty exists for all budgets, so don’t be intimidated by high-priced lingerie. You can find a gorgeous brassiere, camisole, or chemise just as easily at Target as you can at Agent Provocateur. The key is to shop around a few times a year at different stores. Casting a wider net will keep your lingerie drawer inspiring and visually pleasing.

Instead of viewing undergarment shopping as a chore where you hit one place for everything, or lingerie shopping as a task only meant for a special occasion, take your time to curate a lingerie collection that adds romance and beauty to your everyday life. Wear a hot pink bra and undies set under loungewear or throw on a silky chemise to sleep in on a Wednesday night. Variety sparks adventure. When you have a collection that gives you plenty of options and are whimsical in your approach, that fun and spontaneous spark will trickle into other areas of your life.

#3 Honor your Garments

Most often an uninspiring underwear drawer is driven by disorganization. Honor your garments by placing them in the drawer in a manner that meets your needs and also brings aesthetic pleasure. I prefer a lingerie drawer organized by color with complimentary undies folded alongside bras. Chemises and cami short sets can be tucked to the side. Save comfy cotton pjs for another drawer. ✨
