Whether it's taking a daily ritual from expected to extraordinary or discovering the wonderment and beauty of anew travel destination, J.R. McCabe elevates the everyday with timeless taste and comfortable confidence.
When it comes to holiday style I stick to my signature look of sophisticated classic but usually glam it up a bit. Whether that’s donning a blouse with a subtle sheen or wearing a patent heel. This year, with the holidays at home, I’ve traded in the shimmer and stilettos for an understated but sharp look. Here are my tips for modern feminine, yet comfy, holidays at home style.
#1 Wear Unpredictable yet Timeless Colors, Fabrics and Cuts
Swap out that bright Christmas red jumpsuit, emerald green dress, or gold sequin skirt for muted neutral pastels, hunter green, or winter white. Instead of satin, leather, or velvet, wear sheer, cotton, or cashmere. Since we’re cozy at home stick to cuts that are comfortable but have a smart fit.
#2 Dance with your Decor
While you should never match your interior design, I do believe that the best outfits are those that dance with your decor. My home interior style is classic modern, with lots of soft neutrals, whimsy, dimension, and texture in the little things like flowers, candles, and artwork. My holidays at home attire compliments the interiors by keeping a soft, crisp, and approachable look.
#3 Monochrome Magic
If you’re keeping it super casual this holiday go for relaxed confident style by wearing a monochrome look. A Dudley Stephens and Lululemon combo is perfect for this!
